Spotlight On: One Step Recruitment

Who we are:

One Step Recruitment are Somerset’s leading independent recruitment agency, owned and staffed by local people who understand the individual needs of the South West .

What we do:

Our company sources and supplies staff to some of the South West’s leading companies, as well as smaller employers needing extra help, across a range of industries: from Commercial to Industrial & Technical to Care and Hospitality. We support job seekers by diligently representing them in finding their new, perfect job. We help employers and employees for both permanent and temporary roles.

2019 has seen us launch our own Recruitment App (simply search One Step Recruitment on your chosen app store!). We’ve also made moves into more specialist sectors, including STEM and Tech businesses, in Somerset and the South West.

Our relationship to Somerset County Cricket Club:

Our consultancy has been supporting SCCC through both effective matchday recruitment for nearly six years and, more recently, we support SCCC through on-going company and player sponsorship.

Our relationship with SCCC has been one of growth and continued passion for the game. Our ability to source and manage teams of matchday hospitality staff and our relationship with leading figures at the Club has been complimented by our ongoing company sponsorship, which is in our third year. For this season, we’ve also proudly been the player sponsor for Club Captain, Tom Abell.

A bit of history:

Our Managing Director, Nick Mock has a long history with Somerset. He’s been a leading recruiter in the county for 20 years, and six years ago he re-branded and re-launched his agency as One Step Recruitment. We’re now present in Taunton, Chard, and Yeovil and continue to grow our consultancies year on year in sectors specific to Somerset.

2012 to 2017 saw us run the largest skills and jobs fair in the South West, catered specifically to school leavers joining the work force. From 2017, we’ve focussed our community outreach into schools, regularly joining forces with careers departments, charities and no-profits providing jobs, CV, interview and professional advice to leavers. We strongly believe in putting our money where our mouth is in advising and creating opportunities for our young people. We offer free CV advice, consultation and constructive career help, as well as advice to set them on the right path whilst also helping them to gain confidence in their abilities. We aim to give them opportunities that are realistic, achievable and specific to them.
