Staff Profile: Sarah Trunks and Sam McIntyre
Following a review of Somerset County Cricket Club’s award winning Commercial Department, two extremely well established members of the team at the Cooper Associates County Ground have taken up new roles.
Sarah Trunks and Sam McIntyre have recently been promoted to new positions within the structure of the Club.
Sarah first joined the Club in 2008 as the Club Receptionist and after successfully fulfilling a number of roles within the Commercial Department she has now been promoted to Head of Marketing and Communications. This will now see her running the Commercial Department, monitoring the Sales strand, planning and executing the Clubs’ Marketing and Communications strategies as well as managing all Membership and Ticketing.
After taking up her position Sarah said: “It’s been great to be offered this opportunity and I’m thoroughly enjoying the challenge of my new role. Whilst the current season has just ended, plans are already in place for 2018 and even beyond that and these will be announced in due course.”
Sam McIntyre, who began working at Somerset County Cricket Club in 2012 as a Commercial Sales Executive has now been promoted to Head of Commercial Sales. This involves managing the Club’s sales strategy and overseeing the Club Partners, Sponsors and Hospitality as well as driving the non-match day income through Conference and Events Sales.
Commenting on his new role Sam said: “I’m delighted to have been made Head of Commercial Sales. It’s a big job to undertake and I’m sure that there are a lot of challenges ahead, but we have a great team and I’m very much enjoying my new position.”
