Successful Season for Somerset VI Team

The Somerset VI team scooped four trophies at the  BCEW’s End of Season Awards recently.

Ed Hossell was named Partially Sighted Player of the Year for the second time in three years whilst Steve Cook, who hails from Cornwall, won Total Player of the Year for the first time.

Hossell also retained Partially Sighted Fielder of the Year after his 2017 win, whilst Somerset also claimed the Spirit of Cricket Award.

Hossell’s success takes him to third place on the list of all-time most award winners whilst Cook is now four-fifths of the way to becoming the first player ever to win every award for his own sight category.

Both Hossell and Cook were nominated for other awards along with Heidi Linegar, Kathryn Jelfs-White and Rob Crisp.

Sadly Somerset’s Visually Impaired team will have to wait until next season to take part in the T20 Cup Finals Day that was due to be played in Wolverhampton recently but had to be postponed because of the inclement weather.
