Taunton Chamber of Commerce Lunch a Big Success
The Cooper Associates County Ground played host to a special Taunton Chamber of Commerce business networking lunch this week.
The event, which took place in the Colin Atkinson Pavilion, was held in association with the South West Cyber Security Cluster (SWCSC).
SWCSC is a not-for-profit collaboration raising cyber security awareness and best practice and is supported by the police, leading universities, industry experts and business organisations. It exists to raise the profile of cyber security issues and help the region’s businesses and organisations take steps to counter threats.
The event gave local businesses the chance to meet and discuss the burning issues of the day whilst those present were also treated to a presentation by Geoff Revell who outlined details of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes in to force on May 25th. This will affect every company from sole traders to multinationals.
Following the event Caroline Kelly, Taunton Chamber of Commerce Administrator, said: “It was fantastic and it’s such a lovely venue. The aim was to bring local businesses together and to learn about new cyber security systems and we certainly did that. I think it was a great success.
“The team at the Cooper Associates County Ground made sure that everything we needed was ready to go when we walked in to the room, just as discussed. All the staff were amazing on the day too.”Back to News
