Thank you from Hildy's Year

James Hildreth and his Testimonial Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who gave so generously to Hildy’s Year in 2017.

James, who has made nearly 600 appearances for the Club, held a number of events throughout the year and due to the generous nature of those who attended and supported these event’s Hildy’s Year was able to raise in excess of £100,000.

Significant donations from this figure will now be made to Children’s Hospice South West and to the PCA Benevolent Fund.

Regarding his Testimonial Year, James Hildreth said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for everything that they have done for me over the last 12 months. The support that we received was tremendous. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to every single person who was involved in my Testimonial Year. From my Committee through to everyone who donated money to collections or purchased tickets to events, you’ve all been fantastic. Thank you all so much for your generosity.

“It’s great to be able to donate a significant amount of money to two such worthy causes. The money that people have donated throughout the year will be helping two outstanding charities, so thank you all once again.”

Hildy’s Year Committee Chairman, Richard Brice said: “I echo everything that James has said. The Committee would like to thank everyone who donated or was involved with what was a great year.

“James was a pleasure to work with and it is a fitting way for me to stand down from chairing testimonial events. I have been involved with seven testimonial years and I feel it is a good time for someone else to take over the reins. I have loved every minute and have been fortunate enough to work with some great people. I have so many outstanding memories of the last 14 years and I would like to thank everyone for their support during that time.”
