Thatchers Partnership Continues
Somerset County Cricket Club are pleased to be able to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with Thatchers Cider.
This incredibly successful relationship has been renewed for a minimum of three further years and will see the Somerset-based company remain as the Club’s Official Cider Partner.
This new deal is an extension of the current agreement which has seen the two organisations work together on several exciting ventures over the last nine years, including matchday activations, cider festivals and the planting of a special apple tree at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
The extension of the partnership will see Thatchers branding remain in place on the superb terrace situated in the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion, which gives Members and hospitality guests the opportunity to enjoy the matchday experience from an unrivalled vantage point, with spectacular views of the surrounding Somerset countryside and Quantock Hills.
Other benefits of the deal for Thatchers include exclusive cider pouring rights at the Cooper Associates County Ground plus continued social media activations and competitions for Somerset Members and supporters.
The partnership will see the return of the hugely popular inflatable apple rolling challenge during the interval of Vitality Blast matches, whilst further matchday activations will see Somerset supporters benefiting from giveaways and instant win prizes.
Somerset Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert said: “We are extremely pleased to be continuing our relationship with Thatchers Cider. We have developed an outstanding working relationship with Martin and his team, and their products are very popular with our Members and supporters.
“Both organisations are large South West brands, and both are synonymous with Somerset and everything that the county stands for.
“We are all looking forward to what the next three years will bring, and let’s face it, nothing says ‘summer’ quite like a day at the cricket with a quality cider.”
Martin Thatcher, fourth generation of the independent, family run cidermaker added: “We have built up a very strong relationship with Somerset County Cricket Club since we first started working together.
“We love being a part of the Club’s family, sharing their commitment to the county, striving for the very best, and taking a pride in their heritage – values that we most definitely share.
“Continuing our partnership with Somerset County Cricket Club is an absolute pleasure, and we’re looking forward to enjoying an exciting season of cricket, glass of Thatchers in hand!”
Thatchers have been at the forefront of cidermaking at Myrtle Farm since 1904. They use their knowledge and expertise of apple varieties to produce a range of premium bottled, draught and traditional ciders, including Thatchers Gold and Thatchers Haze which are available in the bars at the Cooper Associates County Ground.Back to News
