Tres-timonial Charity Bike Ride Leaves SCCC on Day Two

Marcus Trescothick’s Tres-timonial Charity Bike Ride got underway yesterday (Monday).

The opening batsman is undertaking the event in order to raise money and awareness for Children’s Hospice South West.

The bike ride will see Marcus and his team cycle from Keynsham to St Austell over the course of just five days.

The event began in Keynsham yesterday and the riders left the Cooper Associates County Ground at 9:30am today.

We spoke to Marcus this morning and he is pleased with how the event has gone so far.

“It went really well yesterday,” he said. “After we left Keynsham Cricket Club we visited the first hospice and then there was a tricky treck to Millfield School which took a bit longer than we were expecting. There were a few bumpy roads and a nasty hill but we’re feeling alright today.

“Today we’re heading to the second hospice at Barnstaple via Corfe Hill, Hemyock and Tiverton. We’ll be popping in to Blundell’s School to do some cricket before heading on to Barnstaple.”

The full itinerary is as follows:

  • Day 1: Monday October 8th – Keynsham to Taunton
  • Day 2: Tuesday October 9th – Taunton to Barnstaple
  • Day 3: Wednesday October 10th- Barnstaple to Exeter
  • Day 4: Thursday October 11th – Exeter to Plymouth
  • Day 5: Friday October 12th – Plymouth to St Austell
