Somerset squad face each other in warm up match

The Somerset players enjoyed their second work out on the grass this season at the Cooper Associates County Ground today when the squad played a 30-over per side game between themselves.

Despite the damp conditions preventing the game starting until 1pm, this provided the players with valuable game time experience.

The team batting first hit 368 for seven from their 30 overs, which included significant contributions from Lewis Gregory, James Hildreth and Ben Green.

At the top of the innings Steve Davies and Marcus Trescothick both looked in fine form, each hitting 29 which included several boundaries.

The team batting second ended 50 runs short but included some impressive performances from both Tom Lammonby and George Bartlett.

After the match Head Coach, Jason Kerr said: “It was a very good game, the weather was kind and there were some significant contributions on both sides.  In addition, all of the bowlers got some good overs in their legs.”
