ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Wickets campaign arrives in Taunton
The Wickets campaign has hit the streets of Taunton, giving fans the opportunity to win tickets to Australia v Pakistan at The County Ground this summer.
Taunton has been in the midst of Cricket World Cup excitement this week, as the #CWCTrophyTour is underway in the area having been on display in the town centre as well as visiting local schools.
The mural was unveiled today (Thursday) by former England star Marcus Trescothick and is situated on the junction of St James Street and Lower Middle Street. It will be in place for four weeks and will give two lucky fans the opportunity to win the ultimate day out at CWC19.
To be in with a chance of winning, entrants must share a picture of the mural across Twitter and/or Instagram using #CWC19Taunton.
The lucky winner will be contacted by a Cricket World Cup representative.
After the unveiling Marcus said: ‘It was great to see the World Cup trophy here this week, and now I’m sure that the mural will continue the hype and excitement in Taunton. Somerset is such a keen cricketing county and I know there will be plenty of interest in this, especially as the prize is to see Australia v Pakistan.
‘The tournament provides a great opportunity to showcase Taunton as a fantastic host for global cricket events. The tournament is a once in a generation opportunity for local people to be part of one of the world’s biggest sporting events which is hugely exciting.’
The UK element to the ‘Wickets’ campaign is running alongside #WorldwideWickets, which has seen fans from around the globe share pictures and videos of where and how they play cricket across the world.
