Injury update: Josh Davey and Ned Leonard

Somerset bowler Josh Davey has sustained a hamstring muscle injury. The Scotland international suffered the injury during Somerset’s Vitality Blast quarter-final victory over Derbyshire at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Saturday.

Josh will now undertake a tailored rehabilitation programme in order to ensure that he returns to optimum fitness within the appropriate time scale.

Ned Leonard is likely to miss the rest of the 2022 season after suffering a stress fracture of the lower back.

The 19-year-old, who made his Somerset debut last year, will be working closely with the Club’s Science & Medicine Department whilst the injury heals, before taking on a bespoke recovery programme which will be designed to ensure that he recovers fully from the problem ahead of the 2023 campaign.
