Jack named in England Test Squad
Jack Leach has been named in the England Test squad for the series in the West Indies.
The England National Cricket Selectors today named a 16-strong squad for the three-match series in the Caribbean starting in January.
They have also announced a 15-strong squad for the ODI series against the Windies starting in February.
After being named in the Test squad Jack said: “It goes without saying that I’m really excited to have been selected. I learned so much in Sri Lanka and the whole experience just made me hungry for more.
“This is a massive opportunity for me and it’s one that I’m determined to take with both hands. The conditions in the West Indies will provide different challenges to those I experienced in Sri Lanka, but I’m learning all the time and I’ll just keep pushing and pushing to get better and better.
“To play Test cricket for England is the pinnacle, and to have the chance to win another away series is one we are definitely looking forward to as a squad.”
Jack was one of the key factors behind England’s recent historic series whitewash in Sri Lanka. The 27-year-old took 18 wickets in the three match series at an average of just 21.38.
