Jamie getting back to his best
Jamie Overton was back to his best when he claimed his first five wicket haul of the season in the Specsavers County Championship match against Hampshire at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
The 25-year-old paceman from Devon graduated through the Somerset Academy before making his debut for the County in 2012.
After his latest impressive performance for his County he said: “I’m just going to do my best, bowl as fast and as naturally as I can and see what happens. There’s some spells where I just try to hit my areas and let the ball do the work.
“I wouldn’t say I’m the quickest in the country, Jofra’s pretty quick! I don’t really like to measure or compare myself to others because everyone is slightly different.”
Talking about his aspirations, Jamie said: “The Ashes down-under is a goal for me in the future, but right now all I’m focusing on is to stay fit for Somerset, to play for Somerset and to keep on putting in good performances for Somerset.”
