Jason praises Somerset support

Jason Kerr has once again praised the Somerset Members and supporters following 2018 Vitality Blast Finals Day.

The Somerset Head Coach was quick to thank the fans following Saturday’s semi-final defeat against Sussex at Edgbaston.

“The supporters were absolutely outstanding once again,” he said. “It certainly felt like there were more than 500 in the ground! They made their presence felt and I know the guys really appreciated that massively. Obviously, we’re just sorry that they had to leave disappointed.

“Our supporters are immense. We’re incredibly fortunate because we are extremely well supported, no matter what format we are playing. They support us through thick and thin and I hope they enjoyed the day even though we couldn’t give them what we desperately wanted to.”

“Somerset supporters are very knowledgeable and they understand that our players are fully committed to what we are all trying to achieve.

“This is a very unique Club and there’s a real connection between us and the town. We talk a lot about family within the Club and the players feel really close to the supporters. That was epitomised on Saturday when the guys were sat in with the crowd after the game. There’s a real connection there and I know for a fact that is really appreciated by the lads.

“There’s no doubt that the Somerset supporters were the loudest there on Saturday. The players all knew that bus loads of supporters were going to be there on Finals Day, and that really does mean a lot to all the players. The guys really do feed off the support that they receive.”
