Overseas Update: November 2021

Several Somerset players are plying their trade overseas this winter.

Lets take a look at how our lads are faring.

Tom Lammonby

Tom is currently in Australia playing for Manly-Warringah.

It was a good weekend for the 21-year-old, who made 45 from 26 balls and took two for 28 as his side overcame UTS North Sydney in the NSW Premier First Grade competition.

The following day he claimed four for nine from four overs as Manly-Warringah won the first innings against Eastern Suburbs.

Marchant de Lange and Tom Banton

Marchant, Tom and Will are currently involved in the Abu Dhabi T10 competition.

Marchant is the second highest wicket taker in the whole competition at present. The fast bowlers has claimed 12 scalps at an average of 14.25.

His best of five for 23 against Bangla Tigers saw him become only the second player to take five wickets in the competition.

Tom is currently the Deccan Gladiators’ leading run scorer with 180 runs from the opening eight matches, with a best of 46 not out from just 18 balls against Delhi Bulls. It was also announced this week that Tom will play for the Colombo Kings in the Lanka Premier League, which gets underway this weekend.

George Thomas and James Rew

George and James both played a part as England Under 19s beat their Sri Lankan counterparts by 25 runs in the opening ODI in Colombo.

Opening the batting, George made 27 before becoming the third England wicket to fall, whilst James score 40 as England posted a total of 242 all out from 49.3 overs.

The Young Lions then dismissed their hosts for 217 with 15 balls to spare.
