Players spread some Christmas cheer at Musgrove
Players and staff from Somerset County Cricket Club spent Wednesday afternoon spreading some Christmas cheer at the Children’s Wards of Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Tom Abell, Jack Leach, Dom Bess, Eddie Byrom, Director of Cricket Andy Hurry, Head Coach Jason Kerr, CEO Andrew Cornish and Vice Chairman Richard Brice were joined by Club mascot Stumpy as they visited Oak and Acorn Wards at the hospital.
The players and Stumpy delivered presents to all the children, spent time in the play rooms with them, posed for pictures and chatted with parents and staff.
After the visit Play Specialist at Musgrove Park, Suzanne Heayns said: “It’s been brilliant, absolutely brilliant! We’ve welcomed the Club to the ward for a few years now and we’re always very grateful for the support that the team gives to the children here at Christmas.
“Today was great because we are so busy at the moment with so many poorly children. I think you’ve really brought a big smile to their faces.
“Visits like this really do make a difference and it’s great that the local community get behind us and make children smile.”Back to News
