Somerset qualify for home quarter-final after Middlesex washout
No play was possible at Lord’s today with Somerset and Middlesex claiming a point each as the weather was the only winner in this Royal London One-Day Cup match.
The point means that Somerset have qualified for a home quarter-final against Nottinghamshire Outlaws on June 13th (Start time 11:00). The draw for the semi-finals was also made, with Somerset facing a trip to Essex if they win the match against the Outlaws. This fixture would be played on Friday June 16th and shown live on Sky Sports (Start time 13:30). Please be aware that both matches have a reserve day in place.
Details regarding tickets for this match will be announced via this website at lunchtime today (Thursday).
Matthew Maynard, Somerset Director of Cricket, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve made the knockout stages with a home tie. It’s a tough game isn’t it? They’ve progressed and played some good cricket in their group, and we know they’re a very dangerous side full of internationals. But playing at home is going to be an advantage – we saw that last year when we performed really well in the quarter final. So we’re looking forward to that game, but in the meantime we’ve got a good number of Championship matches that we need to focus on.”Back to News
