Tim makes a great start Down Under

Tim Rouse got his winter off to the perfect start this weekend.

The 22-year-old is playing Grade Cricket in Adelaide during the off-season and made a flying start by scoring a century on his first appearance.

The right handed batsman helped Northern Districts to a first innings victory at West Torrens on Saturday in the South Australia PC West End Men’s First Grade League.

After being put into bat West Torrens scored 251 for nine off their 50 overs.

The former Academy batsman opened the innings for Northern Districts and shared in a first wicket partnership of 70. He then shared a third wicket partnership of 53  with team captain Mark Cosgrove and added 71 for the fifth wicket before he was out for 124 with the total on 237 for five.

Tim was at the wicket for just over three hours, faced 130 deliveries and hit 14 fours and two sixes during his innings.

Northern Districts went onto reach 256 without further loss off 47.4 overs to win by five wickets.

He also claimed one for 48 from 10 overs.

Tim will next be in action on Saturday when Northern Districts entertain Prospect at their Salisbury Oval ground.
