Tom impressing Down Under

Tom Lammonby was a very happy young man on Saturday evening after scoring a century to help Rockingham Mandurah to victory.

The 20-year-old, who is spending his winter playing First Grade Cricket for the Perth based side, led the team to a 50-run victory over Bayswater Morley.

Batting first, Rockingham lost their opening wicket off the fourth ball of the innings which brought Tom to the wicket where he stayed until he was seventh man out, by which time he had helped to take the score onto 203.

Rockingham were eventually bowled out for 216 in 48.1 overs.

During his innings Tom shared in several partnerships including one for the third wicket of 61 with Brandon Burt.

Tom went onto make 107 off 125 balls, which included nine fours, before he was caught off the bowling of Warwickshire’s Henry Brookes.

When Bayswater replied, they were all out for 165 in 43.5 overs, Tom taking one for 15 from his 3.5 overs.

Afterwards he said: “It felt really good to get a century and contribute towards my team winning. It’s great to get that monkey off my back.”
