Rain frustrates Somerset on final day
Only 5.2 overs were possible on the final day of this LV= County Championship top of the table clash between Gloucestershire and Somerset at the Bristol County Ground.
However, Craig Overton and Josh Davey helped the visitors claim two further bonus points, which could prove vital in this competition.
Gloucestershire resumed on 16 for two, but in the small amount of play that was possible, the Somerset bowlers reduced their hosts to 27 for six.
Tom Smith was the first to go when he was trapped lbw by Overton for for three at 21 for three. Tom Lace faced only two balls before Overton had him caught behind by Steve Davies for 0.
21 for four soon became 21 for five when Kraigg Brathwaite was caught by Tom Abell off the bowling of Davey for 15, and when Overton bowled Ian Cockbain the hosts were 27 for six.
Unfortunately for the visitors, that was all the action we would see for the day as the poor weather took hold.
Somerset take 13 points from the match whilst Gloucestershire take 10.
