Greg Kennis


Assistant & Second XI Coach

Greg played First-Class cricket as a top order right handed batsman for Surrey between 1994 and 1997 before moving to Somerset where he played between 1998-2000.


His career best innings for Somerset was his 175 which included 35 fours against New Zealand in 1999. In all Greg played in six first class matches for county in which he scored 296 runs.


Sadly he was forced to retire through injury in 2000 and for a time ran his own cricket academy in Australia and was cricket professional at Kings Bruton.


However he returned to Somerset in 2006 to work as assistant coach (batting ) with the Academy as well as working with all of the age group teams.


In 2012 Greg was appointed by the Somerset Cricket Board as Boys head coach part time coach which includes working as batting coach with the EPP group as well as lead batting coach to the Academy.


In November 2017, it was announced that Greg would be joining the County Club as an Assistant coach and will oversee Second XI cricket.
