Ollie made his full Somerset debut in July 2016 in the NatWest T20 Blast match against Hampshire, having spent most of the 2016 easing his way back into action after recovering from a serious back injury.
That injury had kept him from bowling for much of the 2015 season, and required surgery to correct.
Ollie is a tall right arm fast bowler who played up through the Devon age groups. He attended Sherborne School and graduated from the Somerset Academy in July 2014.
He was then awarded a Somerset Scholarship and in his nine games during 2016, Ollie took 29 wickets at an average of 24.07 for the Somerset 2nd XI.
Ollie was injured for much of the 2017 campaign and his appearances were limited to the Second XI. This was also the case during the 2018 season.
Sale played in every Vitality Blast match in 2020 and was the highest wicket taker with 13, with a best of 3/32 against Gloucestershire.
More injury woes prevented Ollie making any appearances in the 2021 season, but he’ll be hoping to add to his T20 tally and make inroads in the other two formats in the summer of 2022.
